Registration for July is now available!
Visit with elders through the Friendship & Flowers program. We visit folks who live in assisted living and long-term care facilities. Each elder has something unique to share and offer and is looking forward to saying hello!
How can you participate in Friendship and Flowers?
New volunteers must complete a CORI (a background check) which can be found at the bottom of the page.
What will the day look like?
You will first stop by our Jamaica Plain office (3305 Washington Street). Please plan to spend 1-2 hours volunteering.
12:00-12:30 pm Orientation and group photo!
12:30-1:00 pm Travel to long-term care facility.
1:00-3:00 pm Visit with elder(s). Please end the visit by 3:00 pm at the latest.
All locations are MBTA accessible and most offer parking for volunteers. If you are visiting at an assisted living facility, the staff will know that you are coming and will help you locate your elder when you arrive at the facility. At the assisted living facilities, you can visit in your choice of indoor and outdoor community spaces at their residence. Feel free to bring a deck of cards or your favorite magazine to share during the visit. Questions about this form or volunteering for Friendship & Flowers?
